Replacing the System Board
Procedure
1Slide the system board connectors into the slots on the chassis and align the
screw holes on the system board with the screw holes on the chassis.
2Replace the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
3Connect all the required cables to their connectors on the system board.

1Replace the processor. "Replacing the Processor" on page 67.
2Replace the processor heat-sink. See "Replacing the Processor Heat-Sink" on
page 63.
3Replace TV-tuner card, if applicable. See "Replacing the TV-Tuner Card" on page 43.
4Replace the wireless Mini-Card. See "Replacing the Wireless Mini-Card" on page 47.
5Replace the memory module(s). See "Replacing the Memory Module(s)" on page 33.
6Replace the system-board shield. See "Replacing the System-Board Shield" on
page 36.
7Replace the back cover. See "Replacing the Back Cover" on page 20.
8Replace the stand. See "Replacing the Stand" on page 18.
9Replace the stand cover. See "Replacing the Stand Cover" on page 16.
10 Follow the instructions in "After Working Inside Your Computer" on page 13.
Entering the Service Tag in the BIOS
1Turn on the computer.
2Press <F2> during POST to enter the system setup program.
3Navigate to the main tab and enter the Service Tag in the Service Tag Input field.
