Installing the system board

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.

CAUTION: Exercise care when removing and installing the system board in the sled, to prevent any damage to the system board.

1.Unpack the new system board assembly.

2.Position the system board so that the I/O connectors on the system board are toward the back of the system.

3.Align the screw holes on the system board with the screw holes on the chassis.

4.Lower the system board into the chassis until it is firmly seated.

5.Install the screws to secure the system board to the chassis.

6.Replace the following:

a.Easy Restore Module

b.cooling shroud

c.cable cover

d.memory modules

e.hard-drive/SSD backplane
