Incorrect Number of Virtual Disks Displayed In Windows Disk Manager
Issue: | The number of disks displayed in Windows Disk Manager is more than the actual |
| number of virtual disks assigned to the server. |
Corrective | This issue occurs if the MPIO feature is not installed in systems with the Fault |
Action: | Tolerant Shared PERC 8 card configuration. Install MPIO services from the list of |
| features that can be installed on the server. For instructions on how to install MPIO, |
| see Installing and Configuring MPIO at technet.microsoft.com. |
Physical Disk In Failed State
Issue: | One of the physical disks in the disk array is in the failed state. |
Corrective | Update the Shared PERC 8 cards to the latest firmware available on dell.com/ |
Action: | support. Replace the physical disk with a working one which is compatible with the |
| old physical disk and is of equal or greater capacity. |
Unable to rebuild a fault tolerant virtual disk
Issue: | Cannot rebuild a fault tolerant virtual disk. For more information, see the alert log |
| for virtual disks. |
Corrective | The replacement disk is too small or not compatible with the virtual disk. Replace |
Action: | the failed disk with a compatible good physical disk with equal or greater capacity. |
