USING EVENT TIMERS

Rememberthat a Reminder Event Timer just reminds you that the
programis aboutto start. An Auto-TuneEvent Timer remindsyou and
tunesthe receiver to the channelof the program. A VCREvent Timer
remindsyou, tunes the receiver, and starts the VCR.
Youset up an event timer
fora program that is
repeated(such as a regularly
scheduledprogram),but the
timer does not operate for a
showingof the program.
Youmayhavesetupatimerwithan
incorrectfrequency. Remember that a Once event timer operatesjust one time. A Mon.-
Fri.event timer operates Monday throughFriday on the same
channelat the sametime. A Daily event timer does the same, Monday
throughSunday. A Weekly event timer operatesonce a week on the
samechannel at the same time.
Youset up an event timer,
butthe timer does not
operateat all.
Theprogram time may have changed
sothat the event timer overlapped
anotherevent timer.
Theprogram time may have changed
by more than twenty-four hours.
Ifthe receiver is ON and finds an event timer overlap,it will display
theEvent Tim er Scheduling Conf lict menu.You must edit or
delete one of the overlapping eve nt timers.
Noevent timer will operateif the program time changesby more than
twenty-fourhours.

Theprogram time changed. AOnceevent timer always operatesat the actual time of the program.
Youstop the operation of an
eventtimer for one showing
ofa program that is repeated
(suchas a regularly
scheduledprogram),but the
timeroperates for the next
showing.
Stoppingthe event timer applies only
tothe current showing of the program. To stop all operations of a repeated eventtimer, you must deletethe
eventtimer.
Note:The receiver deletes a Once event timer when it operates.
You are testing a VCR code
tosee if thereceiver controls
aVCR.
TheVCR does not do the
test.
TheVCR may not be turned ON,there
maynot be a tape inserted, the tape
maynot be rewound, or the write-
protecttab on the tape may have been
removed.
Thecode you are testing may not be
valid for the VCR.
Makesu re the VCR is turned ON, with a blank tape insert ed on which
youwant to record, that the tape is rewound,and that the write-
protecttab on the tape is intact.
