Printing on Single Sheets You can load single sheets up to 432 mm (17 inches) wide using
the built-in sheet feeder. Before you load special paper, see
“Printing on Sp ecial Paper” on page 7-20.
Tips on using the sheet feeder
Follow the tips below to get the bes t performance when loading
paper with the sheet feeder.
❑Load paper into the sheet feeder before sending data to the
printer. When the printer receives data from the computer,
it loads a single sheet and begins to print.
❑If the printer runs out of paper during a print job, reload
the sheet feeder and then press the Pause button to
continue printing.
❑Press the Load/Eject button if you need to eject a sheet of
loaded paper.
❑Whenever possible, use your software to set the top and
bottom margins.
❑You can use the printer’s micro-adjust feature to make
changes to the paper loading position.
❑If ink smears on your documents, set the adjust lever to
the + position. For more information, see “Setting the
adjust lever” on page 7-20.
