Note:
You can check printer status using Status Monitor 2 only when your printer is connected directly to your computer or when it is connected to a remote server in a Windows 95 network.
Managing Print Jobs
Deleting a Stalled Print Job
If you’re having trouble printing, it may be because of a stalled print job. Follow these steps to delete it and continue printing:
1.Click the EPSON Stylus COLOR 850 icon on the taskbar.
2.Click on any print jobs marked Held.
3.Click the Cancel button.
4.Exit Spool Manager and try printing again.
Using Status Monitor 2
Status Monitor 2 lets you view detailed information about your print jobs and control how you want printing monitored. Before you can use Status Monitor 2, you must enable background monitoring for your printer if it isn’t already enabled, as described in the next section.
Enabling Background Monitoring
To turn on background monitoring, follow these steps:
1.Click Start, point to Programs, click the Epson folder, and click EPSON Status Monitor 2.
2.Click the name of the printer you want to monitor in the Printer Name list. The printer name is highlighted.
3.Open the Settings menu and select Background Monitoring.
4.Select either Monitor from restart (to begin background monitoring after your next system restart) or Monitor now (to begin background monitoring right away).
5.Now set your monitoring preferences for the printer as described in the next section.
