Recording from an External Device
Follow these steps to record from an external device, such as a VCR, camcorder, satellite receiver, etc. Before you begin:
Turn on the DVD Recorder, TV and audio system (if applicable).
Make sure your external device is powered on and connected to the front or rear line in jacks.
Make sure your external device is cued up so it is ready to play at the desired counter position. For example, play your camcorder or VCR to
the start of the scene you wish to record.
1Press Open/Close on the remote control or front panel to open the disc tray.
2Insert a DVD+R or DVD+RW into the disc tray with the label side facing up.
If you are using a DVD+R, it must be not be finalized. Once a DVD+R is full or finalized, it cannot be recorded on again.
3Press Open/Close again to close the disc tray.
The unit will take a few moments to read the disc and then switch to Disc mode automatically.
The disc menu for the D VD+R or DVD+RW will appear.
The disc menu displays the percentage of free space available on the disc. Check to make sure you have enough space on the disc to
record the desired show, and adjust the Quality level if necessary (see Step 6 below).
4Press Disc/Live to switch to Live mode.
LIVE appears on your TV.
You can also press Record to switch to Live mode from Disc mode.
5Press Input on the remote control to select the desired input:
Line 1 - Records from a device connected to the front panel Video In jack.
Line 1-S - Records from a device connected to the front panel S-Video In jack.
Line 2 - Records from a device connected to the back panel Video In jack.
Line 2-S - Records from a device connected to the back panel S-Video In jack.
6Press Quality to set the record quality to the desired level:
