1. Create or Modify a Router Configuration.
Using Quick Configuration
The Quick Configuration utility lets you create a ‘‘getting started’’ configuration using a single screen that provides access to the most commonly used router parameters. Some examples of Quick Configuration uses are:
Setting a ‘‘getting started’’ configuration, either for the first time or after using the reset/clear buttons to set the router module to its
Easily checking and/or resetting IP addresses and other ‘‘getting started’’ parameters in existing configurations.
| Use Quick Configuration first, to create your initial configuration. Then, |
| if testing shows that you need to configure more parameters, or if your |
| network design calls for such areas as spanning tree, static routes, or |
| filtering, use the full Configuration Editor. |
| To use Quick Configuration, press [6] at the Main Menu screen. For |
| details about using Quick Configuration, refer to the User’s Guide. |

N o t e | When you exit Quick Configuration after changing parameter values, |
| you will be prompted: |
| Reboot now (y/n)? |
| To reboot the router module, type y and press [Enter]. |
| Rebooting the router module disconnects it from the console. To |
| reconnect, refer to step 5 on page |
| The new configuration parameter values are not put into effect until the |
| router is rebooted. If you do not boot while exiting from Quick Configu- |
| ration, you can activate the new configuration by booting using the NCL |
| Boot command. |
