2.Set the Date and Time.

The current date and time appear at the top of the router module’s console interface screens. The date and time is recorded with entries in the event log (see page 2-11) and the crash history (which is displayed by the NCL Crash command).

When the router module is first powered on after being installed in the hub, it starts with a default date and time. The date and time are main- tained in the router module’s battery-backed RAM. To set the current date and time, use the NCL Time command as described below.

The date and time in the router module is used for other routers in the network if the Time Protocol’s Mode parameter for DoD Internet Router in the configuration is set to “Server only” or to “Server and client”. (For more information about this parameter, refer to the Operator’s Reference.)

To set the date and time:

At the NCL prompt, enter the Time command with the date and time as follows:

time mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss [Enter]

where:

mm = month

hh = hour

dd = day

mm = minute

yy = year

ss = second

For details about the NCL Time command, refer to the Operator’s Reference.
