Waveform Generator

HP BenchLink/Arb supports both RS-232 and IEEE-488 communications from the PC to the HP 33120A Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator. This section describes how to set up your function generator so that communications can be established when you run HP BenchLink/Arb.

Using the function generator front panel, the instrument must be placed

 

 

 

in the HP-IB or RS-232 interface mode. If using HP-IB, the function

 

 

 

generator must be given a unique address.

 

 

 

The HP 33120A Function Generator User’s Guide contains complete

 

 

 

descriptions of these procedures. The general procedure to set the

4Move down to select HP-IB or RS-232 interface parameters. If choosing RS-232, you must also check the baud rate and parity commands in the I/O Menu. The baud rate default is 9600; the parity default is none with 8 data bits.
