Setting general options

The following control panels enable you to set general options for using your HP Jornada. For more information about a particular control panel, see the Settings topic in online Help.

Display—The Display control panel allows you to set the background image and the appearance of your Windows CE desktop.

Keyboard—The Keyboard control panel allows you to set options for how fast characters repeat when you hold down a key on your HP Jornada keyboard.

Owner—The Owner control panel allows you to store personal information, such as your name and address, and to choose whether to display this information each time you turn on your HP Jornada.

Password—The Password control panel allows you to protect your HP Jornada with a password. You can choose to be prompted to enter the password each time you turn on your HP Jornada.

Regional Settings—The Regional Settings control panel allows you to set the format for time, date, numbers, and currency based on your geographic region. Choose from preset schemes or set individual options.

System—The System control panel displays information about the hardware and software configuration and enables you to adjust the allotment of program memory and storage memory.

Volume & Sounds—The Volume & Sounds control panel allows you to set the speaker volume and turn on and off the sounds associated with different system events. You can save your options as a sound scheme, just as you do with Windows 95.
