Manually Cleaning the Print Cartridges
1Press the Power Button to turn the printer on, then lift the top cover.
2After the print cartridges move to the center and stop, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.

Caution
Keep new and used print cartridges out of the reach of children.
3Remove the print cartridges and place them wide side down on a piece of paper.
Do NOT touch the print cartridge ink nozzles or copper contacts. Touching these parts will result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connection. Also, do NOT remove the copper strips; these are required electrical contacts.
4Dip a clean cotton swab into distilled water and squeeze any excess water from the swab.
5Clean the face and edges of the print cartridge as shown. DO NOT wipe the nozzle plate.
6Inspect the cartridge for fibers on the face and edges. If fibers are still present, repeat the cleaning process.

7Repeat the cleaning process for the other print cartridge.
Caution Once you’ve removed the print cartridges, make sure that they are not outside of the print cartridge cradle longer than 30 minutes.
