Removal and replacement procedures

Bluetooth module

✎The Bluetooth module spare part kit does not include a Bluetooth module cable. The Bluetooth module cable is included in the Cable Kit, spare part number 516328-001.

Before removing the Bluetooth module, follow these steps:

1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer.

4.Remove the battery (see “Battery” on page 4-7).

5.Remove the primary hard drive cover (see “Primary hard drive cover” on page 4-9).

6.Remove the primary hard drive (see “Hard drive” on page 4-12).

7.Remove the switch cover and keyboard (see “Switch cover and keyboard” on page 4-21).

8.Remove the speaker assembly (see “Speaker assembly” on page 4-26).

Remove the Bluetooth module:

1.Slide the Bluetooth module out of the rubber bracket 1 that secures the Bluetooth module to the computer.

2.Release the Bluetooth cable from the routing channel 2.

3.Disconnect the Bluetooth cable from the system board 3.

Reverse this procedure to install the Bluetooth module.
