Modem module cable

The modem module cable including the RJ-11 jack is available in the Cable Kit, spare part number 516328-001. Before removing the modem module cable, follow these steps:

1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

4.Remove the battery (see “Battery” on page 4-7).

5.Remove the following components:

a.Primary and secondary hard drive covers (see “Hard drive covers” on page 4-9)

b.Primary and secondary hard drives (see “Hard drive” on page 4-12)

c.Optical drive (see “Optical drive” on page 4-8)

d.Memory module (see “Memory module” on page 4-14)

e.WLAN module (see “WLAN module” on page 4-15)

f.Switch cover and keyboard (see “Switch cover and keyboard” on page 4-21)

g.Speaker assembly (see “Speaker assembly” on page 4-26)

h.Display assembly (see “Display assembly” on page 4-28)

i.Top cover (see “Top cover” on page 4-37)

j.System board (see “System board” on page 4-40)

k.USB board (see “USB board” on page 4-46)

Remove the modem module cable:

1.Release the clips 1 built into the base enclosure that secure the RJ-11 jack and cable.

2.Remove the modem module cable 2 from the clips and routing channel built into the base enclosure.

3.Remove the RJ-11 jack 3 from the base enclosure.

Reverse this procedure to install the modem module cable and RJ-11 jack.
