Moving from Standard Time to Da ylight Savings Time:

The following example illustrates c hanging the system time zone o￿set from

8 hours 00 min utes in the Western Hemisphere (P aci￿c Standard Time) to 7 hours 00 min utes in the Western Hemisphere (P aci￿c Daylight Savings Time). This command will cause local time to jump forward immediately one hour. Universal Time will be unc hanged.

:SETCLOCK TIMEZONE=W7:00

SYSTEM TIME: SUN, APR 4, 1993, 7:12:00 AM

CURRENT TIME CORRECTION: 3600 SECONDS

TIME ZONE: 7 HOURS 0 MINUTES WESTERN HEMISPHERE

Moving from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time:

The following example illustrates c hanging the system time zone o￿set from 7 hours 00 min utes in the Western Hemisphere (P aci￿c Daylight Savings Time) back to 8 hours 00 min utes in the Western Hemisphere (P aci￿c Standard Time). This command will cause local time to slo w down until it loses one hour. Users of Univ ersal Time will see an immediate one-hour jump forward, followed by a slowdown until system Univ eral Time again matc hes real Universal Time.

:SETCLOCK TIMEZONE= W8:00

SYSTEM TIME: SUN, OCT 31, 1993, 06:23:14 AM

CURRENT TIME CORRECTION: -3600 SECONDS

TIME ZONE: 8 HOURS 0 MINUTES WESTERN HEMISPHERE
