Note that the SHOWJOB command reports a job or session as EXEC* when it is initializing. After initialization is complete, the state c hanges to EXEC. The number of jobs and sessions sho wn in the EXEC state is the sum of the jobs and sessions in both EXEC and EXEC* states.
