Reporting Problems to HP

When reporting problems to HP, include the following information:

A complete description of the problem and any error messages. Include information about:

the local system (IP addresses)

IP addresses of relevant remote systems

log files such as /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log

routing table information (netstat -rnoutput) if appropriate

Include a description of what works, as well as what does not work.

If the problem is reproducible, set HP-UX IPQoS log level to DEBUG. Save and include a file containing DEBUG, ERROR, and WARNING messages. By default, messages go to /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log. You can look for messages logged by the HP-UX IPQoS API library under the name libipqos.

Relevant HP-UX IPQoS configuration files.

HP-UX IPQoS database file:

/opt/ipqos/db/ipqosdb.db

A display of the active configuration. Use the following command:

#ipqosadmin -showconfig

A display of all the available statistics of the active configuration. Use the following command:

#ipqosadmin -showstats

Indicate whether the problem continues even if you are in the ENABLED but NOT FILTERING state of HP-UX IPQoS.
