5Engage the printhead and load the ribbon.

6Test and readjust if necessary. (Tip: Use direct thermal media to avoid loading and unloading of ribbon multiple times.)

Adjusting Printhead Dot Line

When using thick or stiff media, the printhead needs to be moved forward so the dot line is aligned precisely with the top of the platen roller. They must of course be perfectly parallel as well.

1Open the side door.

2Remove the ribbon and engage the printhead.

3Use a straight-slot screwdriver to turn the two screws at the top of the printhead bracket counterclockwise a single turn.

4Lift the printhead by pulling the printhead lever and flipping it counterclockwise a quarter of a turn.

5Carefully turn both screws at the front of the printhead clockwise a quarter of a turn at a time (a full turn corresponds to 0.55 mm, which is a lot). Make sure to make identical adjustments on both screws. If you are unsure,
