HDD SET UP

* The default setting is bold in the table below.

8 LIVE MEMORY	When this function is set to “30MIN”, “1HR” or “3HR”, you can enjoy the
OFF	selected length of the time for “Live Memory Playback” ( pg. 26).

8 AUDIO REC	When this function is set to “NICAM”, the NICAM audio programme will be
NICAM	recorded.
MONO	When this function is set to “MONO”, the Standard (monaural) audio
	programme will be recorded.
	NOTE:
	This function works only on the NICAM bilingual programme.

VCR SET UP 1

* The default setting is bold in the table below.

	8 NAVIGATION	When a programme is recorded on the cassette with this function set to “ON”,
	ON	you can use VCR Navigation ( pg. 32, 51).

	8 S-VHS	Your recorder can record in S-VHS (Super VHS), S-VHS ET or VHS.
	AUTO	●To record in S-VHS:
	OFF	●To record in S-VHS:
	OFF	Set “S-VHS” to “AUTO”. Then, insert a cassette marked “S-VHS”. The S-VHS

		indicator lights up on the front display panel.
		The S-VHS recording mode is selected.
		●To record in S-VHS ET on a VHS cassette:
		See “Super VHS ET (S-VHS ET)” on page 39.
		●To record in VHS:
		Insert a cassette marked “VHS”.
		If the S-VHS ET mode is activated, press S-VHS ET. “S-VHS ET : OFF“ appears
		on the TV screen, if “O.S.D.“ is set to “ON“.
		The VHS recording mode is automatically selected regardless of the “S-VHS”
		mode setting.
		●To record in VHS on an S-VHS cassette:
		Insert a cassette marked “S-VHS”. The S-VHS indicator lights up on the front
		display panel. Then, set “S-VHS” to “OFF”. The S-VHS indicator goes off.
		The VHS recording mode is selected.
		NOTE:
		When playing back a tape that has been recorded in S-VHS or S-VHS ET, the S-VHS
		indicator lights up on the front display panel regardless of the “S-VHS” mode setting.
