Playing back a file

This part explains how to play back 1) files recorded on the loaded disc, and 2) files recorded on a USB mass storage class device (hereinafter referred to as “USB device”) connected to the main unit. The operations are explained with a display of MP3 files as an example.

NOTE

When a file on a USB device is played back, the “USB” indicator lights up in the display window.

You can also use the buttons on the main unit. When you repeatedly press [SOURCE] to select “DVD” or “USB” in the display window, playback automatically starts. If playback does not start, press 3(playback) on the main unit.

When files of different types (audio/still picture/ video) are recorded on a loaded disc or con- nected USB device, select the file type before playback. (Refer to “FILE TYPE” on page 41.)

Place a disc on the disc tray.

Refer to steps 1 and 2 on page 20. (To play back files on a USB device)

Connect the USB device.

The menu screen appears on the TV screen.

When a file recorded on the connected USB device is selected as the source, “USB” is dis- played.

Numbers of the current group and total groups recorded on the loaded disc or connected USB device

Numbers of the current track (file) and total tracks (files) included in the current group

Elapsed playback time of the current track (MP3/WMA/ WAV/ASF file only)

Flash memory device, portable digital audio player or other USB mass storage class device

NOTE

You cannot connect a computer to the [USB MEMORY REC/PLAY] terminal of the system.

When connecting with a USB cable, use a USB 2.0 cable with a length of less than 1 m.

Depending on the file type, the menu screen appears without pressing 7. At this time, you can skip step 3.
