Esta pontada se utiliza con frecuencia como acabado de costuras para evitar el deshilachado.

Si utiliza un prensatelas de zigzag, comience el sobrehilado con la aguja en la posici6n de la izquierda, a unos 0.3 cm (1/8") del borde no terminado de la costura. La punta derecha de la pontada debe rebasar apenas el borde de la costura.

Use el prensatelas de sobrehilado para las telas delgadas. Para coser, alinee el borde de la tela con la parte interna de la guia de costura del soporte del cepillo.
