Troubleshooting
Most cooking problems are caused by little things you can find and fix without tools of any
kind. Check the lists below and on the next page before calling for assistance or service,

RANGE DOES NOT WORK

PROBLEM CAUSE/SOLUTION
Nothing works The range is not plugged into a properly grounded outlet (120v polarized).
• The range is not properly connected to the gas supply. Contact a Sears
Service Center to reconnect the range to the gas supply. (See the Installation
Instructions.)
A household fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has been tripped.
The Oven and Cooktop Lockouts have been set.

OVEN/BROILER BURNER

PROBLEM CAUSE/SOLUTION
The oven does notwork The electronic control is not set correctly, Refer to setting the electronic
oven control section. (See pp, 11-24.)
A delay start has been set. Wait for the start time to be reached or cancel
and reset the control.
The main or regulator gas shutoff valve is in the off position. (See the
Installation Instructions.)
• The Oven Lockout has been set.
Burner makes muffled • This is normal. This sound occurs when the oven burner cycles on and off
ticking noise when in use to hold the set oven temperature.
The burner falls to light The ignition system is broken. Contact a Sears Service Center to replace it.
A household fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has been tripped.
