WRITING CONVENTIONS FOLLOWED

The writing conventions described below have been followed to simplify instructions and avoid unnecessary repetition.

Instruction			What to Do
Press [KEY].		Press and release KEY.
Press		Press KEY1 momentarily, release
[KEY1], [KEY2].		KEY1, then press KEY2.
Press		Press and hold KEY down for a
[KEY] (1 s).		second.
		Press and hold KEY1 down, then
Press		press KEY2. If there are more
		than two keys, press and hold
[KEY1]+[KEY2].

		final key has been pressed.
		With the transceiver OFF, press

Since the amateur radio bands are slightly different from country to country, the following meter band descriptions are used in this manual.

•2 m band: 144 ~ 148 MHz or 144 ~ 146 MHz

•70 cm band: 430 ~ 440 MHz
