Changing the printing mode
To conserve ink, you can change the default printing mode for all print jobs to Draft or Quick Print. It uses less ink and
is ideal for printing text-only documents. If you need to print phot os or other high-quality documents, then you can
select a different mode from the Print dialog before sending the print job.
To change the default print mode:
For Windows users
1Click , or click Start and then click Run.
2In the Start Search or Run box, type control printer s.
3Press Enter, or click OK.
The printer folder opens.
4Right-click the printer, and then select Printing Preferences.
5Select Quick Print as the printing mode.
For Macintosh users
1With a document open, choose File > Print.
2From the printer pop-up menu, choose the printer.
3From the print options pop-up menu, choose Print Settings or Quality & Media, depending on your operating
system.
4From the Print Quality pop-up menu, choose Draft or Quick Print as the printing mode.
5From the Presets pop-up menu, choose Save as, and then type a name for your sett ing configuration.
You must choose this configuration name from the Presets po p-up menu for each print job.

Changing the printing mode f or a single print job

For Windows users
1With a document open, click File > Print.
2Click Properties, Preferences, Options, or Setup.
3Select Automatic, Quick Print, Normal, or Best.
Note: Printing in Draft or Quick Print mode uses less ink and is ideal for printing text documents.
For Macintosh users
1With a document open, choose File > Print.
2From the printer pop-up menu, choose the printer.
3From the print options pop-up menu, choose Print Settings or Quality & Media, depending on your operating
system.
4From the Print Quality pop-up menu, choose Automatic, Draft or Quick Print, Normal, Photo or Best.
Note: Printing using Quick Print uses less ink and is ideal for printing text documents.
