Introduction

A single DVD video disc can contain a whole motion picture, complete with multi-channel sound and many other features such as subtitles and related information. The picture quality is close to that of the film’s original format, and it does not suffer from the degradations of quality experienced with analogue storage. The DVD format also supports a range of audio formats, including recordings with multi-channel sound or at higher resolutions or sampling rates than can be provided on conventional CD.

The Meridian 586 DVD Player allows you to take advantage of the whole range of video and audio releases available in this versatile new format. It uses the proven Meridian drawer-loading system to combine the convenience of tray loading with the extremely important performance benefits of top loading. In addition, the high-quality circuitry and de-jittering technology result in the highest audio and video quality achievable with DVD.

This user guide explains how to operate the DVD player, to enable you to get the best results from your video and music discs.
