Wireless Settings

Wireless Settings allows you to update wireless parameters, enabling you to successfully connect to your wireless network. For example, use Wireless Basic window to enter the Network Name (SSID) and select the type of Wireless Encryption to use.

Wireless Basic

Click Wireless Settings > Wireless Basic to access the window. The Wireless Basic window is displayed:

Description

Type the Network Name used by your wireless network. The SSID is case sensitive.

Select the wireless channel your network is using when Ad-Hoc is the selected Network Type. It is illegal to use a channel in any location outside of your regulatory domain.

Also, be aware that Channel 1 may be a poor choice since it is close to the frequency used by cordless phones.

Select the type of wireless network you are using.

Infrastructure: select if you have one wireless station (a router) supplying many wireless access points.

Ad-Hoc: select if you are using a network where access points talk directly to one another.

Select your physical location. It has bearing on the wireless spectrum you are able to use.
