Back Panel

The cable connections for the MT4X56USB are made at the back panel. Three groups of cables are used; four ports for RJ-11 modem connections, two types of USB connections, and a power connection. The cable connections are shown in Figure 1-3 and defined in the following groups.

RJ-ll Modem Connector

The four RJ-11 modem connectors connect the MT4X56USB to computers or network servers.

USB Type A (Upstream) Connector

The USB Type A (Upstream) connector connects the MT4X56USB to devices where the external cable is permanently attached (e.g., input hubs or other MT4X56USBs).

USB Type B (Downstream) Connector

The USB Type B (Downstream) connector connects the MT4X56USB to devices where the external cable is detachable (e.g., peripherals such as computers, printers, scanners, modems, or output hubs, etc.).

Power Connector

The power is supplied by a UL Listed Direct Plug-In Power Unit marked “Class 2” and rated 5V DC/5A, 100-240V, 47-63Hz if used in the U.S. and Canada; or, a power supply with similar rating and approved by your local safety code if it is used elsewhere.
