Assigningfixedaddresses

YoumustletyourrouterknowaboutdeviceswithfixedIPaddresses.Todoso,youmanuallyenterthe
device'sMACaddressandtheIPaddressthatisboundtothatMACaddress.AfteryoubindtheMACaddress
totheIPaddress,theIPaddresscannotbeusedbyanyDHCPclientwithadifferentMACaddress,evenif
thereisnoactiveDHCPconnectionwiththatIPaddress.
Toassignfixedaddresses:
1. IntheFixedAddressgroup,clickAdd.Adialogboxopens,whereyoudefinetheaddress.
2. IntheMACAddressfield,typetheMACaddresstowhichthespecifiedIPaddressbinds.
3. IntheIPAddressfield,typethefixedIPaddresstobeassigned.
4. ClickFinish.Theaddressesareadded.
ConfiguringGPS

ConfiguringtherouterforusewithaGlobalPositioningSystem(GPS)

SomeroutershaveabuiltinGPSreceiver.IfyourrouterhasaGPS,theroutercanforwardNMEA(National
MarineElectronicsAssociation)sentencesfromtheGPSreceivertoadeviceconnectedtotherouter'sserial
port.YoucanalsosendtheGPSdataoverthenetworktoaremotecomputer.
ToconfiguretheGPSonyourrouter:
1. FromSetup,selectGPSConfiguration.TheSetup:GPSconfigurationpaneopens.
2. ToconfiguretheTCPserverportandenableaserialportdumpofNMEAsentences,seeDumpingNMEA
sentenceinformationtotherouter'sTCPserverport.
