ConfiguringDynamicDomainNamingSystem(DDNS)
ThisfeatureallowsyourroutertouseaDDNSservicetoassociateahostedserver'sdomainnamewitha
dynamicallychanginginternetaddress.
ToconfigureyourroutertouseDDNS:
1. FromSetup,selectDDNSConfiguration.
2. IntheConfigurationgroup,checkEnabled.
3. IntheServerfield,typethenameoftheserverfromwhichthecurrentlyassignedIPaddressisobtained.
ThischeckIPserverisaservertherouteraccessestocheckitscurrentIPaddress.
4. InthePortfield,typetheserver'sportnumber.Defaultis80.
5. IntheMaxRetriesfield,typethemaximumnumberoftriesthatareallowediftheupdatefails.The
defaultis5.Therangeis0to100.
6. IntheUpdateIntervalfield,typethedaysthatpasswithnoIPAddresschange.Attheendofthis
interval,theexistingIPAddressisupdatedontheserversothattheaddressdoesnotexpire.Therange
oftheintervalyoucanenterisbetween1and99days.Thedefaultis28days.
7. IfyouwanttoquerytheservertodeterminetheIPaddressbeforetheDDNSupdate,checkUseCheck
IP.TheIPaddressisstillassignedbythewirelessproviderandtheDDNSisupdatedbasedonthe
addressreturnedbyCheckIPServer.Ifdisabled,theDDNSupdateusestheIPaddressfromthePPPlink.
ThedefaultisUseCheckIP.
8. IntheCheckIPServerfield,typenametowhichtheIPAddresschangeisregistered.Example:
members.dyndns.org
9. IntheCheckIPPortfield,typetheportnumberoftheCheckIPServer.Defaultis80.
10. FromtheSystemdropdownlist,selectthedesiredsystemregistrationtype,eitherDynamicorCustom.
ThedefaultisDynamic.
11. IntheDomainfield,typetheregisteredDomainname.

Enteringauthenticationinformation

YourDDNSserverrequiresyoutoidentifyyourselfbeforeyoucanmakechanges.Todoso:
1. IntheUsernamefield,typethenamethatcanaccesstheDDNSServer.ThedefaultisNULL.Youreceive
yournamewhenyouregisterwiththeDDNSservice.
2. InthePasswordfield,typethepasswordthatcanaccesstheDDNSServer.ThedefaultisNULL.You
receiveyourpasswordwhenyouregisterwiththeDDNSservice.

ForcingaDDNSserverupdate

ToupdatetheDDNSserverwithyourIPaddress,clickUpdate.
