Step 2. Connect the CablesNote Ifyou do nothave an Ethernet cable, as listed in the What You Need to Get Started
sectionof Chapter 1, Introduction, contact National Instruments for ordering information.
Figure 2-2 showsthe locations of the power, Ethernet, and GPIB
connections on the rear panel of the GPIB-ENET/100.

Toconnect your cables, complete the following steps:
1. Connect one end of your Ethernet cable to your GPIB-ENET/100.
Connectthe other end of the Ethernet cable to your Ethernet network.
Makesure you comply wi tha ll IEEE 802.3 cabling restrictions.
2. Because ACoutlets vary throughout the world, your kit includes a
powercord that meets your local requirements in addition to a power
supply.Figure 2-3 shows how to hook up your power cord and
powersupply.
a. Plug one end of the power cord you receivedin your kit into the
powersupply.
b. Screwthe power connector on the other end of the power supply
onto the powerjack of the GPIB-ENET/100 .
c. PlugtheotherendofthepowercordintoanACoutlet.
