Using the CFG RESET Switch during OperationWhilethe GPIB-ENET/100 is operational, as indicated by a steady yellow
PWR/RDYLED, you can use the CFG RESET switch to place the box into
network configuration mode. You then can use the NI Ethernet Device
Configurationutil ity as described in Chapter 3, Ethernet Configuration.
Thisspeci al mode ensures that network parameters are not changed while
in use.B ecause you cannot change the network parameters unless you
deliberately place the GPIB-ENET/100 into network configuration mode,
the parameters areprotected while in normal operation. Hosts cannot
connectto the GPIB-ENET/100 w hile it is in network configuration mode.
Note Pressingthe CFG RESETs witch has no effectif hosts are currently connected.
Closeall connections, then press and hold the CFG RESET switch for
three seconds. If you releaset he switch prior to three seconds, the
GPIB-ENET/100 continues to operate normally.
The PWR/RDY LED goes through the following changes during these
three seconds:
1. The LEDbegins slowly alternating between red and yellow.
2. The alternating pattern increases in tempo.
3. At three seconds, the PWR/RDY LED becomes steady red. This
indicatesthe GPIB-ENET/100 is ready to enter networkconfiguration
mode.
4. Nowrelease the CFG RESET switch. The PWR/RDY LED alternates
rapidly between red and yellowto indicat et he GPIB-ENET/100 is
nowin network configuration mode.
This mode remains in effectuntil yo u switch offthe GPIB-EN ET/100 or
youuse the NI Ethernet Device Configuration utilit y to change its
networkcharacteristics. The GPIB-ENET/100 automatically reboot sw hen
you exitth e utility.
