Using the NI Ethernet Device Configuration Utility
If your network administrator tells you to assign the IP address manually,
run the NI Ethernet Device Configuration utility. To run the utility,
completethe following steps:
1. Open the Ethernet/100 folderin the NI-488.2 folder.
2. Double-click the EthernetConfig icon.
3. The NIEthernet Device Configuration ut ility displays a list of
NationalInstruments Ethernet devices found on your subnet, so rted by
model. Youcan identify your device by the Ethernet address or the
serial number found on the GPIB-ENET/100 baseplate label.
Figure 3-1 shows an example of this display.

Thelisted devices can be in one of four possible states, as indicated in
the IP address/hostname column:
Ahostname indicates the device has successfully been configured
by DHCP.
Anumerical IP address indicates the device has successfully been
configuredwith a s tatic IP address.
