Verify the InstallationThis chapter describeshow to verify the software installation.If you
encounterh ardware problems, please refer to the Troubleshooting
HardwareProblems sect ion inA ppendix B, Troubleshooting and
Common Questions.
Verifying the Software Installation
Thesoftware diagnostic test NI-488.2 Test verifies that the NI-488.2 driver
is installed and functioning with the GPIB-ENET/100. If any one of the
software installation steps fails, you might have to change a hardware or
software setting. If this is the case, refer to Chapter 3, Ethernet
Configuration, or Chapter 4, GPIB Configuration.
Followthese steps to run the software verification test.
1. Ensureall G PIB cables are disconnected from the GPIB-ENET/100.
2. Double-click the NI-488.2Test icon in the NI-488.2 folder.
Ifno error messages are displayed, the installation is complete and you
areready to write your own application program. Refer to the NI-488.2
Function Reference Manual for MacOS for sample programs.
3. If error messages are displayed, restart your Macintosh and
double-click the NI-488.2Test icon.
Ifthe test fails again, reinstall the NI-488.2 software from the CD,
restart your Macintosh, and double-click the NI-488.2 Test icon.
