The server switch unit does not recognize the cascade connection.

￿Does the Serve Switch Unit operate normally?

Press the Reset switches on the server switch units to start them again. Always press the Reset switch of the master side first and then that of the slave side. If the status remains unchanged, either or both of the server switch units are defective. Contact your service representative to request the repair of the units.

The server switch unit becomes inoperable suddenly while it has been operated.

Press the Reset switch on the server switch unit to restart the unit. If the status remains unchanged, the server switch unit may be defective. Contact your service representative to ask the repair of the unit.

The Serve Switch Unit cannot enter into the hot key mode (OSD does not appear).

￿Did you press any key during the start of OS?

The server switch unit does not accept any key entry during the start of OS. Provide the key entry again after OS is started.

Any key entry during the start of OS causes the Server Selection switches on the console panel to be invalid also. Press the Reset switch to restart the server switch unit and then provide the key entry.

￿Is the screen saver feature of the server connected to the server switch unit enabled?

Check the Server Selection lamp on the server switch unit. If it blinks, press the Esc key and move the mouse to disable the screen saver. If it does not blink, move the mouse to disable the screen saver.

￿Is the server connected to the server switch unit in sleep mode?

Cancel the sleep mode of the server.

Cannot enter the desired character from the keyboard.

￿Is any one of Ctrl, Alt, or Shift key being pressed when you press the Server Selection switch?

Press any one of Ctrl, Alt, or Shift key, and enter the desired character again.
