Installing the Celeron or Pentium III Processor Cartridge

Install the Celeron cartridge or the Pentium III processor cartridge in the universal retention mechanism and system board as follows.

!CAUTION

Before handling components, reduce static discharge by touching the chassis.

1.Remove the processor currently in the system (see “Removing the Celeron or Pentium III Processor Cartridge” earlier in this section).

!CAUTION

Using the wrong heat sink or no heat sink can damage the processor, system board, or both. Ensure that the replacement processor cartridge has the correct heat sink (refer to the documentation that comes with the processor). Do not use the heat sink from the removed processor cartridge.
