Auto Sort Mode Categories

Category		Description
ZSmile	Images captured in smart portrait mode (A65) with smile timer
	set to On are displayed.
	Images captured in j, k, l, mor Mmode using face detection
	(A97).
YPortraits	Images captured in the following scene modes.
	•	e (Night portrait)* (A49)
	•	R (Backlighting)* (A50)
	•	Portrait* (A51), Party/indoor (A52)
u Food	Images captured in the Food (A56) scene mode.
ULandscape	Images captured in the Landscape* (A51) scene mode.
	Images captured in the following scene modes.
VDusk to dawn	•	j (Night landscape)* (A48)
	• Sunset (A53), Dusk/dawn (A54), Fireworks show (A57)
DClose-ups	Images captured in the macro close-up focus mode (A40).
	Images captured in the Close-up* (A55) scene mode.
OPet portrait	Images captured in the Pet portrait (A59) scene mode.

XRetouched copies	Copies created using editing function (A146).
WOther scenes	All other images that cannot be defined by the categories

* Images captured in Scene auto selector (A46) are also sorted to the appropriate categories.

BNotes on Auto Sort Mode

• Up to 999 images and movie files can be sorted to each category in auto sort mode. If 999 images or movies have already been sorted to a specific category, new images and movies cannot be sorted to that category nor can they be displayed in auto sort mode. Display images and movies that could not be sorted to a category in normal playback mode (A34) or list by date mode (A132).

• Images or movies copied from the internal memory to a memory card, or vice versa (A144), cannot be displayed in auto sort mode.

• Images or movies saved by cameras other than COOLPIX P500 cannot be displayed in auto sort
