TOC indicator

Information, such as track numbers, is written into the table of contents (TOC) on the MD before you eject the MD, before the recorder enters standby mode, or before recording is stopped.

Do not disconnect or move the power cord under the following situations. Otherwise, the data will not be written correctly. (Also, refer to the “When the power is down” section on the right.)

When the TOC indicator is lit

The information to be written into the TOC is currently stored in memory on the FR-N3X.

When the TOC indicator is flashing

The information is being written to the MD.

When the power is down

If the power is down or if you disconnect the power cord accidentally while the TOC indicator is lit or flashing, the data recorded prior to power down will be erased.

When “Retry Error” appears

Eject the MD, insert it again, then try recording again.
