Turn MULTI JOG to select a recording mode from the selection below in the following order.

SP:

Normal stereo recording mode. You can record

 

stereo data of a length specified on the disc.

LP2:

Normal stereo data is compressed to half its

 

length. The available recording time is twice the

 

length of “SP.”

LP4:

Normal stereo data is compressed to a quarter

 

of its length. The available recording time is four

 

times the length of “SP.”

MONO:

Monaural recording mode. The available record-

 

ing time is twice the length of “SP.”

Note

If you have recorded a disc in LP2 or LP4 mode, you cannot play it on a player that does not support LP2 or LP4 mode. If you play such a disc on another MD player, “LP:” may appears in the display as a title.

Press MULTI JOG when the desired recording mode appears on the display.

This operation is available for Synchro recording and Signal Synchro recording.

Press EDIT/CLEAR/NO to display “Rec Signal?.”

Press MODE/YES.

Tip!

The “DIGITAL” indicator lights up on the CD information display if digital recording has been selected. The indicator does not light up if analog recording has been selected.

“DIGITAL” lights up during digital recording.

If you do not wish to change the current setting, press EDIT/CLEAR/NO. If you wish to change the setting, press MODE/YES.

When you press MODE/YES after the FR-N3X displays “DigAna?,” it starts analog recording.

When you press MODE/YES after the FR-N3X displays “AnaDig?,” it starts digital recording. The FR-N3X displays “Complete.” You have now completed all settings.

When you eject the CD and press the CD-DUB button, the FR-N3X displays “Dig.”
