AFM ANTENNA (18)

This socket is for connecting an FM antenna.

BDIGITAL INPUT OPT 1, OPT2 & COAX (20–23, 25–28)

These optical and coaxial digital audio inputs can be used to connect a DVD, CD, LD (laser disc) player or other components with digital audio outputs.

CCOMPONENT VIDEO INPUT 1, 2 (20–23, 25, 26)

These component video inputs can be used to con- nect AV components with component video outputs, such as DVD players and TVs. Component video connections provide better picture quality than S-Video. Use dedicated component video cables.

DMONITOR OUT (21, 22)

These component video, S-Video, and composite video outputs can be connected to the video inputs on your TV or projector.

Only video signals from a video input of the same format are output. For example, the COMPONENT MONITOR OUT outputs component video signals received by COMPONENT VIDEO INPUT 1 or 2, not an S-Video or composite video input.

EFRONT SPEAKERS (16, 17)

These terminal posts are for connecting front speakers.

FSPEAKERS (16, 17)

These push terminals are for connecting surround left, surround right, center, and surround back speakers.

G REMOTE CONTROL (29)

This (Remote Interactive) socket can be con-

nected to the socket on another Onkyo compo- nent. The TX-L55’s remote controller can then be

used to control that component. To use , you must make an analog audio connection (RCA)

between the TX-L55 and the other component, even if they are connected digitally.

Note:

can only be used with Onkyo components.

HSUBWOOFER PRE OUT (17)

A powered subwoofer can be connected here.

IAUX AUDIO IN (27, 28)

An audio component such as a CD player can be connected here by using an RCA audio cable.

JVIDEO 2 AUDIO IN (25, 27)

The audio output of a set-top box (cable, satellite, over-the-air) can be connected here by using an RCA audio cable.

KVIDEO 1 AUDIO IN/OUT (24, 25, 27)

The audio input and output of a VCR or MD recorder can be connected here by using RCA audio cables.

LTV AUDIO IN (22)

The audio output of a TV can be connected here by using an RCA audio cable.

MDVD MULTI CH IN (24)

The stereo analog audio output or multichannel

(5.1-channel) analog audio output of a DVD player can be connected here.

NVIDEO 2 IN (25, 26)

The S-Video or composite video output of a set-top box (cable, satellite, over-the-air) can be connected here.

OVIDEO1 IN/OUT (24, 25)

The S-Video or composite video input and output of a VCR can be connected here.

PDVD IN (23)

The S-Video or composite video output of a DVD player can be connected here.
