Other difficulties with playback

When pl aying a title rec orded on both laye rs, the un it automatically swi tches between
layer s and play s the titl e in the same way as a normal program. Howeve r, video and aud io
may momentarily cut out when the un it is switching layers.
BD-Video or DVD-Video is not
played. Ensure the disc is for the correct BD-Video re gion code or DVD-Video region number, and

Sub contents copied to an SD card are provided by the disc producer as a part of the BD-

Alternative soundtrack and
subtitles cannot be selected. The languages are not recorded on the media.
You may not be able t o use the on-sc reen me nu to change the soundtrack and subt itles on
some discs. Use the disc’s menus to make changes. (>14)
No subtitles. Subtitles are not recorded on the media.
Turn the subtitles on. Set “Subtitle” on the on-screen menu to “On”. (>23)
When progressive output is on, closed captions cannot be displayed.
Angle cannot be changed. Angles can only be changed during scenes where different angles are recorded.
The resume play function does
not work. The memorized positio n is cleared in the following instances:
j[] is pressed several times.
jThe disc or SD card is removed.
jThe unit is turned off during CD or SD card playback.
jThe unit is turned off due to such occurrences as power outage, the removal of the AC
adaptor or waste of the battery pack’s remaining power when the unit is turned on.
The resume play function may not work depending on the media.
[BD-V]: On BD- Video discs incl uding BD-J, the r esume play function does not work.

the unit at the same time for more than 5 seconds. Turn the unit of f. “DVD-Video Ratings”,
“BD-Video Ratings” and “Network Service” will return to the default settings.
The VIERA Link does not work. Is the uni t screen facing outwar d and closed? (>10, 3 or 4 in “ Ins tal latio n of th e uni t” )
The unit cannot be operated with the TV remote control in any other c ondition.
