Linked operations with

the TV

(VIERA LinkTM “HDAVI ControlTM”)

Preparation
1Connect this unit to your TV or amplifier/receiver with an
HDMI cable (>25).
2Set “ VIERA Link” to “On” (>34). (The default setting is
“On”.)
3Set the “HDAVI Control” operations on the connected
equi pme nt (e.g ., TV).
4Tu rn on all “H DAV I Control ” c ompa tib le equ ipme nt an d
s elect thi s unit ’s input channel o n the connected T V s o that
the “HDAVI Control” function works properly.
Also when the connection o r settings are changed,
repeat this procedure.

Press [POWER Í] on this unit’s remote control and set to
standby mode.

automatically switch the input channel and display the
corresponding action.

(e.g., Direct Navigator screen)
jWhen the HDMI is connected, with the unit turned on (first
time only)
When the television is off and the following operations are
performed, the television will automatically turn on and display
the corresponding action.

All connected equipment compatible with “HDAVI Control”,
including this unit, automatically turns off when you switch the
telev isio n off.
≥This unit automatically turns off even during playbac k or any
other operation.
≥Wh en [1] (PLAY) is pressed on this unit for “Automatic input
switching” or “Power on link”, the playback image is not
im mediately disp laye d on the screen and it may not be
possible to watch the contents from where playback started.
In this case, press [:] or [6] to go back to where
playback started.

What is VIE RA Link “HDAVI Con trol”?
VIERA LinkTM is a new nam e for EZ S ync TM.
VIERA Link “HDA VI Control” is a convenient function that
offers linked operations of this unit, and a Panasonic TV
(VIERA) or amplifier/receiver under “HDAVI Control”.
You can us e thi s fu nction by co nnecting the equipment
with an HDMI cable. See the operating instructions for
connected equipment for operational details.

provided by HDMI which is an industry standard kn own as
HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), is a unique
fun c tio n t ha t we hav e de ve lope d and adde d. As suc h, its
operation with ot her manufacturers’ equipment that
s upports HDMI CE C cannot be guaranteed.
≥This unit su ppor ts “HD AVI Contro l 4” functio n.
“HDAVI Control 4” is the newest standard (current as of
De ce mbe r, 20 08 ) f o r P a nas onic ’ s H DAVI Co nt r ol com p at ib le
equipm ent . Th is sta nd ar d is co m pati ble w ith Pa na so nic ’s
conventional HDA VI equipment.
