SMS (Short Message Service)

receive may be limited by your SMS service provider/telephone company. Contact your SMS service provider/telephone company for details.

RIf your message contains over 160 characters, the message is a long message and “IILong TextII” is displayed. Your service provider/telephone company may treat long messages differently from other messages. Contact your service provider/ telephone company for details.

RIf your phone is connected to a PBX, store the PBX line access number (page 39).

Editing/sending a saved message

1MMenuN (right soft key) a a MOKN

2 MbN: “Send List” a MOKN

3 MbN: Select the message. a MOKN

4To edit the message:

MMenuN a MbN: “Edit Message” a MOKN a Continue from step 3, “Writing and sending a new message”, page 37.

To send the message:

MMenuN a MbN: “Send” a MOKN a Press and hold MCN to erase all numbers. a Continue from step 4, “Writing and sending a new message”, page 37.

Erasing saved messages

Receiving a message

When an SMS message is received:

–“Receiving SMS Message” is displayed.

–a tone is heard (if the handset ringer is turned on).

– is displayed with the total number of new (unread) SMS messages.

Reading a received message

R Messages which have already been read are indicated by a “”.

Replying to a message

SMS options while reading a received message

You can perform the following operations while you are reading a received message.

nEditing/forwarding a message:

MMenuN a MbN: “Edit Message”

nErasing received messages:

MMenuN a MbN: Select “Erase” or “Erase All”.

nStoring the sender’s number in the phonebook:

MMenuN a MbN: “Add Phonebook”

nEditing the sender’s number and calling back:

MMenuN a MbN: “Edit & Call”
