Changing the ringer tone
You can change the base unit ringer tone
heard when an outside call is received.
There are 4 tones and 4 melodies.
1Press {LINE SELECT} repeatedly to
select the desired line when in standby
mode.
LYou cannot set the ringer tone for
both lines at the same time.
2Within 10 seconds, press {<} or {>}
repeatedly to select the desired ringer
tone.
LTo stop ringing, press {STOP}.
Note:
LIf you select one of the melody ringer
patterns, the ringer continues to sound
for several seconds if:
– the caller hangs up before you answer
the call.
– another person answers the call using
another phone connected on the
same line.
Useful features during a call
HOLD button
This feature allows you to put an outside
call on hold.
1Press {HOLD} during an outside call.
LTo transfer the call to the base unit or
another handset, continue from step
2, “Transferring calls”, page 49.
2Press {HOLD} again.
LTo release the hold, press {LINE1} or
{LINE2} that is flashing on the
handset.
Press {HOLD} during an outside call.
LTo release the hold, press {LINE1} or
{LINE2} that is flashing on the base unit.
Note for handset and base unit:
LIf another phone is connected to the
same line (page 11), you can also take
the call by lifting its handset.
LIf a call is kept on hold for more than 6
minutes, an alarm tone starts to sound.
After 4 additional minutes on hold, the
call is disconnected.
