Connecting a Video Equipment with a LANC Socket

Example for connecting another manufacturer’s video equipment with a LANC terminal (L control) as the playback unit, when controlling the playback unit through the VCR.

AV1 (Rear)

8mm

Notes:

Do not change the Edit Terminal or Edit Mode settings while performing setting or editing operations on the SET UP or EDIT MENU screens. Be sure to exit these screens before changing these settings.

When using this VCR as the recording VCR and performing editing by connecting the units via the AV cables or a 21-pin Scart cable, the On Screen Display (date/time, Time Code) may scroll vertically when still playback or slow playback are performed by the playback VCR.

¡Before connecting any cables, first make sure that the both units turn off.

¡Insert a recorded cassette into the playback unit, and a cassette with the closed record prevention tab into the VCR.

¡The NV-DV2000 cannot be controlled through video equipment with a LANC socket.

with a LANC socket

(8mm Video Camera etc.)

¡Some types of LANC sockets have a different shape to the LANC socket on the NV-DV2000.

¡If an attempt is made to perform an operation through the NV-DV2000 that the playback unit does not support, the unit may operate incorrectly.

¡If the playback unit is connected to the recording unit via an S-VIDEOcable, the video signal on the S-VIDEOcable takes priority. If the playback unit does not have an S-VIDEOsocket, do not connect the S-VIDEOcable to the NV-DV2000.

¡When the units are connected using the DV cable and editing is performed, some editing functions will differ compared with when the units are connected using the AV cables. Refer to Glossary of Terms on [R58].

¡Read the operating instructions of the playback unit.
