About the DSU

HRemote Management. Provides remote management:

ÐUsing an external modem through the Terminal port

ÐUsing SNMP or Telnet through the 10BaseT port or the IMC

HDDS Operation. Operates at 56 kbps and 64 kbps CC (clear channel).

HLADS (Local Area Data Set) Operation. Operates as a limited-distance modem at 56 kbps and 64 kbps full-duplex.

HAutorating of Line Rate. Establishes the line rate from the network receive signal and automatically adjusts to the detected line rate.

HData Port Rates. Automatically adjusts to the DDS or LADS operating rates.

HDiagnostics. Provides the capability to diagnose device and network problems and perform tests, including digital loopbacks, pattern tests, and self-test.

HDevice and Test Monitoring. Provides the capability of tracking and evaluating the unit's operation, including health and status, and error-rate monitoring.

HTwo Customer-Specified Configuration Storage Areas. Allows quick access to alternate sets of configuration options.

HSecurity. Provides multiple levels of security, which help prevent unauthorized access to the DSU.
