Community Name 2

Possible Settings: ASCII Text, Clear

Default Setting: [blank]

Community Name of external SNMP Managers allowed access to the DSU's MIB. This community name must be supplied by an external SNMP manager attempting to access a MIB object. Level of access is set in the next option, Name 2 Access.

ASCII Text ± Enter a maximum of 130 ASCII printable characters. Refer to Entering

Device and System Information in Chapter 3.

Clear ± Clears the Community Name 2 field.

Name 2 Access

Possible Settings: Read, Read/Write

Default Setting: Read

Set the access level for the Community Name 2 created in the previous option.

Read ± Allows a read-only access (SNMP Get, Getnext) to accessible MIB objects.

Read/Write ± Allows SNMP Get, Getnext, and Set functions on MIB objects. Write access allowed to all MIB objects specified as read-write in the MIB RFC.

NMS IP Validation

Possible Settings: Enable, Disable

Default Setting: Disable

Determines if security checks are performed on the IP address of any SNMP management system that attempts to access the node.

Enable ± Performs security checking. Allows access only if the sending manager's

IP address has been entered in the NMS IP address list.

Disable ± No security checking of incoming SNMP messages.

Number of Managers

Possible Settings: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

Default Setting: 1

Set the number of SNMP managers that are authorized to send SNMP messages. The

IP address of each SNMP management system must be entered in the next option.

1 to 10 ± Specifies the number of SNMP managers allowed to send SNMP messages.
