• The focus is locked while the focus indicator ] is lit.

•Turning the zooming ring in focus lock mode may cause the subject to be out of focus.

•The beep can be turned off. (p.163)

•You cannot set focus lock when the focus mode is set to k (Continuous mode) or the capture mode is set to \(Moving Object). In k(Continuous mode) or \(Moving Object) mode, the autofocus continues to focus on the subject until the shutter is released. (Continuous Autofocus)

Fixing Exposure when Focus is Locked

Set [AE-L with AF locked] in the [ACustom] menu (p.100) to fix the exposure value while focus is locked. Exposure is not fixed by default during focus lock.
