28 On-Screen Status Displays
An
ON SCREEN ON:
•Whenever you press the PLAY button or the STOP button, some of the contents of the status display will appear for five seconds.
COUNTER ONLY:
•The tape counter will appear
ON SCREEN OFF:
•No status display will appear when you press function buttons or the EXIT/STATUS button.
To select one of the status display modes, follow these steps.

Press the VCR button, then press the MENU button.

Press the Number 2 button to select VCR SET UP.

Press the Number 2 button to select ON SCREEN MODE.

Press the Number 1 button to select ON SCREEN ON, the Number 2 button to select COUNTER ONLY, or the Number 3 button to select ON SCREEN OFF. (ON) will appear beside the selected status display mode.

Press the EXIT/STATUS button to exit.

Helpful Hints
•In On Screen On and Counter Only modes:
•You may bring up the status dis- play at any time by pressing the EXIT/STATUS button. (The excep- tion is during Slow, Search, or Still mode.) The display will appear for about five seconds.
•Channel numbers (when tuned) will appear for a few seconds.
•When tape playback is stopped, press the EXIT/STATUS button at any time to see the time, counter information, or channel number on the display panel. During tape play- back, press the EXIT/STATUS but- ton to see the time or counter infor- mation on the display panel. The channel will not appear.
