The Status Bar During Disc Playback

Press ADVANCE while you fast forward or rewind to jump to one of the evenly space tick marks.

SLOW: Press to slow down the play speed. Press PLAY to restore normal playback.

+ FRAME FORWARD: After pressing PAUSE, each time you press FWD steps forward to the next frame.

+ FRAME BACK: After pressing PAUSE, each time you press BACK steps back to the previous frame.

Buttons that are temporarily disabled. Some control buttons may be disabled during portions of DVD or CD. For example, control buttons are often disabled during the opening titles of a DVD. If you press a control button while it is disabled, a red circle with a slash () appears on screen.

The Status Bar

The status bar appears when you press a control button (such as PLAY, FWD, or INSTANT REPLAY). It shows the length of the current DVD title or CD track. A vertical white line shows where you are in the current title or track and the symbols under the bar show which control buttons are in use. Press CLEAR to hide the status bar.

Searching for a Title, Chapter, Track, or Location on a Disc

CDs generally have multiple music tracks and DVDs are generally divided into one or more titles. A DVD’s titles may be further subdivided into chapters. Your Recorder offers different ways of accessing the information on a DVD or CD:

Search for titles or chapters on a DVD-Video

Search for tracks on a CD

Select the point in time to start playback.
