Waterproof management
Youcan usethis camera underwater to a maximum depthof 9.8feet
(3m) inan ocean, lake, or similar underwater environment for one
hour.To ensure the camera operates properly underwater, you must
practice the correctwaterproof management before andafter using
the camera, as follows.
[] Before using thecamera
1. Makesure that there is nodirt, dust, or sand on the camera and
that the tens is always kept clean.
- If there isforeign matter or moisture on the battery chamber cover
or the USB cover, wipe them with asmooth, lintfree cloth.Also
check ifthere are any scratches on thewaterproof seat.

2. Make sure that thebattery chamber cover and the USB cover
make aclicking sound when closing them, so that they are firmly
shut.
• Do not openthe battery chamber cover or the USB cover under-
water, with a wet hand,or in any environment thathas agreat
deal of moisture and dirt.

While using the camera:
-Do not usethe camera under water ata depth ofmore than 9.8feet
(3m).
-Do not usethe camera continuouslyfor overone hour underwater.
-Do not openthe battery chamber cover andthe USB cover under
water.
-Do not usethe camera in hotwater.
-Do not leavethe camera onthe sand. Sand may enterthe speaker
or the microphone, andthe camera mayget hot if itisexposed to
direct sunlight for aprolonged time.
-The waterproofperformance maydeteriorate ifthe camera isstruck,
dropped, subjected to strong pressure or to strong vibration.
-The accessories that came with the camera arenot waterproof.

1. Make sure that any water and dirton the camera are removed with
adry clothafter using thecamera under water.
Ensurethe battery chamber coverand the
USBcover are closed, and then washthe
camerawith flowingwater, making sure
toremove allsand, foreign matter,and
dirt.You canalsosubmerge thecamera
inclean water for2 to 3 minutesbefore
washing it. See page19for details.
- Donot wipe the camera with other
liquidssuch assoapy water,neutral
detergents, or alcohol.
Wipe the camera with a dry cloth, and then drythe camera in a
welt ventilated place.
